Is BudgetGram really free?
Yes. The Free plan includes unlimited expense tracking, category budgets, and subscription tracking — no credit card, no time limit, no catch. Analytics, sinking funds, and investment tracking are part of Pro.
What's the difference between Pro and Family?
Pro unlocks analytics, sinking funds, and investment tracking for one person. Family includes everything in Pro, plus the ability to create a household and invite family members — and everyone in that household gets Pro features automatically.
Can I switch between monthly and yearly billing?
Yes, anytime from your account settings. Switching to yearly billing gets you two months free compared to paying monthly.
Can I downgrade or cancel later?
Of course. You can change or cancel your plan at any time — your data stays intact, and you'll simply lose access to plan-specific features like analytics or investments if you drop to Free.
How many people can join a Family household?
Up to 5 people in total, including you. Invite them by email or share an invite code (you approve each request). Everyone shares expenses, categories and budgets. Subscriptions, sinking funds and investments stay owned by each person: others in the household can view them, but only the owner can change them.
Is BudgetGram a good budget app for couples?
Yes, sharing is built in. On the Family plan you and your partner (and up to 3 more people) each get your own login and share one expense list, one set of categories and one budget per category. Every entry shows who added it, and a “Just me” filter shows only your own spending.
Do I need to connect my bank account?
No. BudgetGram never asks for your bank login. You add spending by typing it, snapping a receipt or screenshot, speaking it, or asking ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini to log it. Many people prefer this for privacy, and because it makes you notice every purchase.
Is BudgetGram a good alternative to Mint or YNAB?
If you want a simple, private budget app that couples can share, yes. Mint shut down in 2024, and BudgetGram covers the core of what people used it for: expense tracking, category budgets, subscription and bill tracking, savings goals and net worth. Unlike Mint and YNAB it doesn't sync with banks; instead it adds receipt scanning, voice entry and AI assistants. The Free plan has no time limit.
Can BudgetGram track my subscriptions and bills?
Yes. Add each subscription with its cost and billing cycle (weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly) and BudgetGram shows what renews in the next 15 days, your total monthly cost, and a calendar of renewals. Recurring bills like rent, phone and internet appear in an “Upcoming bills” list with a one-tap “Mark paid”. Optional daily email reminders are available too.
Does BudgetGram work in India, the UK and Europe?
Yes. BudgetGram works in any browser on phone or computer, and you can choose US dollars ($), Indian rupees (₹), British pounds (£) or euros (€) as your currency.
Can I use BudgetGram with ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini?
Yes. On Pro and Family you can connect BudgetGram to Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini (or any app that supports MCP connectors) from Settings → AI assistants. Your assistant can then answer questions about your spending, add entries from a receipt or screenshot, and edit existing ones. It signs in securely with your BudgetGram account, can never delete anything, and you can disconnect it at any time.
